Party Britain sticks to the original…

Here at Party Britain we’ve been avidly following the debate over the new Wonder Woman outfit.

Well, when we say ‘debate’ there doesn’t seem to be much argument in the ‘for’ camp. Most folks who’ve commented on the new costume are very much against it.

Just to keep you in the picture, NBC in the States have revealed photographs of Wonder Woman 2011 who is none other than the gorgeous Adrianne Palicki (some say she’s too round-faced, we think she’s just sweet). The new costume is minus the stars and stripes of the outfit worn by the original Wonder Woman i.e. the lovely Lynda Carter. Remember her?

Main criticism of the outfit is that it looks like an elaborate fancy dress outfit. And their problem is?? It can’t be anything other than a fancy dress costume. I mean, it’s not as if she’s going to go shopping to Tesco in it!

We’re rather proud of our own Wonder Woman set of costumes at Party Britain – all sporting the much-coveted star and stripes. One version comes with red velour bodice and metallic blue skirt. To round off the outfit there’s a red metallic cape, silver gauntlets, a gold belt and, of course, the tiara. Another version has stars and stripes pants and really cool striped boots. It also comes in kids sizes. And for the Wonder Woman who likes to powder her nose occasionally there’s a matching handbag to keep her make-up intact. Check out the costumes now on our site www.partybritain.com.

Meanwhile, fancy dress aside, the pilot for the new Wonder Woman series has also been criticised for its casting, namely Britain’s own Liz Hurley as the villain who produces drugs to make people stronger i.e. an army tough enough to knock crime-busing Wonder Woman’s socks off.

Personally, we think both versions of Wonder Woman’s costume are great and can’t wait for the new series to start…
