The Party Britain team are off to the cinema tonight to see Bridesmaids – the biggest talked about film this summer.
Despite its title it’s not too gooey and girly apparently. In fact, it’s been billed as rather witty, funny and a female version of The Hangover (which is brill if you ever get the chance to see it).
So what does this have to do with a fancy dress shop like ours? Well, it gives us a chance to show off our fab fancy dress bridal collection of course. Now, as you’d expect with Party Britain we’re not talking run-of-the-mill meringue bridal gown here. No, take a look at our gothic wedding dresses – especially the long purple and grey number with string bodice and V-shaped sleeves.
For the evening reception you could team it up with a coffin clutch handbag. This must-have accessory for any Gothic bride-to-be is faux velvet with lace and a jewelled black and pewter cross – very classy.
Getting back to the naughty nuptials though, how about the Corpse Bride look? This long fancy dress costume comes complete with skeletal arm and bony ribcage. Oh and there’s a long white and blue wig to match. And don’t forget the black rose bouquet to carry down the aisle… wouldn’t be the same without it.
We may be wrong but we’re fancying thirty-something singleton Annie in Bridesmaids won’t want to rock the boat and will probably advise best friend Lillian to stick to conventional white for her dream day.
Meanwhile, just as a point of information, the Party Britain team are astounded to learn that a recent survey of more than 20,000 brides in America showed that it cost an average of nearly £1100 to become a bridesmaid! What happened to living in sin…?
