Come the summer months you often feel like doing a little DIY and refreshing your abode in time for the long winter evenings. Well, here at Party Britain we do anyway ‘cos let’s face it, there’s more than one day in June, July and August when the rain tends to make an appearance.
But ladies why let a little DIY project or two ruin your plans to seduce the hunky next door neighbour? We suggest, instead, that you up the ante and purchase our very own fancy dress Home wrecker outfit (currently on sale incidentally).
This rather sexy little fancy dress costume consists of a cute little off-the-shoulder number, yellow DIY apron and four plastic tools (well, we’d hate you to ruin that French manicure). There’s also a dinky little yellow hat to help hold those stray hairs off your face.
Still not convinced? Then how about the DIY Babe fancy dress outfit? Also reduced, this denim frilly number has orange ruched sleeves and, again, the convincing tool belt and tools. Worn with a pair of high heels, it won’t take much persuasion on your part to get the neighbour to lend a hand with those roof rafters.
Remember, here at Party Britain we do next day delivery (if ordered before 5pm Monday to Friday) as well as the standard postal version. And better still, both are eligible for our free returns policy.

Here at Party Britain we get quite a few enquiries from couples keen to put on a fancy dress costume double act.
This isn’t as difficult as it sounds with some costumes deliberately designed for pairing such as:
• bacon & eggs
• plug & socket
• mustard bottle & hot dog
• toothbrush & toothpaste tub
• patient (with plastic bum) & doctor
• fat chef and pizza outfit
Other combinations come separately but look brilliant together such as Batman & Sexy Robin or Maid Marion & Robin Hood. And what about Danny & Sandy in Grease? Or you could even go for a mix of decades with Lady Gaga & Elvis.
There’s always the downright funny angle too with the Baywatch Bodysuit (especially the ‘larger’ one). A great look would be the lithesome female in the former and the boyfriend wearing the ‘larger look’ Baywatch. Another great combination would be the groping granny and deluxe bodybuilder.
If you’re a mum and you’re going along to a family fancy dress costume day with your kids, why not dress up as Snow White and get the wee ones to put on Sleepy, Grumpy or Dopey fancy dress outfits? (Here at Party Britain we have the perfect seven dwarf masks).
But don’t take our word for it. Have a look through our cyber shelves and come up with your own combinations. Just remember to let us know about them though. We’d hate to miss out on anything!

We were so impressed by Captain Jack Sparrow’s wig (check out our own Party Britain Caribbean pirate version) that we stopped off at our male fake locks section to try on a few for size.
Our favourite by far was the long flowing tresses of Vicky Pollard – in fact we’ve wigs for four of the Little Britain characters, including Lou. Take a look.
The Gothic vampire wig is pretty stunning too with its back-combed long back and grey streaks. The Count version, on the other hand, is simply bizarre and a real talking point.
You could probably venture down your local High Street in our Alice Cooper wig without too much notice but change it for the 80s New Romantics hairpiece and it’ll be a different story (gad’s we were all fooled into believing the geometric cut was pretty cool at the time too!).
Party Britain also has the other 80s trend – the Jason Donovan style mullet (remember, layers at the top and sides, shoulder-length at the back) or the 70’s Elton John short page.
Other show stopper wigs on our cyber shelves are the Fire Storm and Elvis Deluxe while the Edward Scissorhands headpiece needs absolutely no introduction to 90s film buffs.
After an exhausting – but fun – hour or two we came to the conclusion that fancy dress wigs are a great, inexpensive way of getting into a character without having to buy the whole outfit if you’re a bit strapped for cash.

Spring is the season of birds, bees and romance which in turn leads on to lurrrve. Here at Party Britain you can dress as the Goddess of Love herself.
Slip on this gorgeous ankle-length red one-shouldered number, tie the bold banding across the front and push your feet into a pair of leather gladiator slippers (remember to have a pedicure first!) and you’re Aphrodite. Well, you will be once you fit on the gold headpiece.
With your flirtatious charms maybe you can persuade some hero to barter for this stunning snake arm bracelet – after all, no goddess should ever go unadorned. After all, we’re sure Aphrodite’s lover Ares, the God of War would have had no hesitation when it came to pleasing his Goddess.
Aphrodite is not to be confused with Venus who, in addition to also being the Goddess of Love, had another string to her bow – she was also the Goddess of Beauty. You too can go one better than Aphrodite with this white velour fancy dress costume. It comes with matching gold arm band and head piece and is more of a summer outfit due to its shorter length.
Whichever fancy dress outfit you choose though, we’re sure you’ll manage to create your own little bit of heaven.

We’re getting into the Princess spirit after the Royal Wedding last week.
Two of the latest fancy dress outfits to grace the Party Britain storeroom cupboards are both for children and guaranteed to turn your tomboy daughter into the epitome of grace and style.
Our Disney-approved Minnie Mouse pink ballerina costume with layered dress in white polka dot is cuteness itself. It looks fab with a pink bow, black mouse ears, black shoes and white ankle socks.
Then again, if your little cherub is more of a Super Mario fan (computers have a lot to answer for!) then let her adorn this rather striking Princess Peach two tone pink dress with puff shoulders. Matched with long white gloves and a foam crown well, we’re sure she could be mistaken for Princess Catherine herself!
Then again, at Party Britain we have a whole range of princess outfits. There’s our Rapunzel fancy dress which includes a
glow-in-the-dark blonde hair braid (a ‘must’ for any would-be fairytale bride). Or how about our Belle Sparkle costume? This gorgeous long gold dress comes with a layer of netted glitter to ensure your little one doesn’t get lost in the crowd (as if!) and, of course, there’s the gold tiara to match.
But if any of the above fancy dress outfits don’t take your fancy, why not have a search through the site and see if you can find your perfect princess outfit? We’re sure it’s there.

We’ve got some fab headgear if you fancy being a touch regal. Our Queen’s fancy dress gold crown is embossed with coloured jewels and comes in red fabric, just like the real McCoy. A more subtle version comes without the fabric but an equally enchanting number of jewels. And for those who prefer to appear as a princess there’s a couple of lovely silver tiaras as well. And of course there’s a handsome crown for the blokes too.
Then again, you’re guaranteed to come up trumphs by attending your Royal Wedding street party as a giant king or queen of Hearts playing card. This can be achieved thanks to our stunning new poly-foam creations. Just take a nip over to our website and deal yourself a dramatic twist.
Personally, we still love the Rule Britannia sequinned dress best and think when you’re wearing this, all that glitters is definitely gold. And we guarantee, wear this and you just might take the attention from the bride’s own dress for a bit.
Whatever you wear and wherever you celebrate, here at Party Britain we hope you have a lovely day and we wish all the best for the future to William and Catherine.

Ok, we reckon spring has not just peeked it’s head around the corner, but come to stay overnight. And we’re wondering what type of fancy dress outfit we could celebrate this splendid weather with.
The first fancy dress costume that comes to mind is the beautiful bee outfit for girls. You really wouldn’t mind a wee one buzzing around wearing this all afternoon. Another version is the basic bumble bee outfit which comes complete with wings and head piece.
Cuter still, especially if adorned by an under five-year-old, is the Party Britain lamb outfit. And big brother or sister could chase the wee lamb around in the wolf costume (no change there then!). For those who can put up with the saccharine overload there’s also a sweet bunny costume (and an adult version).
Adults can also help celebrate spring with a daffodil headpiece – a great way to waken up your loved one of a morning. And completely digressing (it was the ‘morning’ theme that did it) another favourite morning wake-up call would be with our bacon and eggs costume. We just love this. Hmm, on second thoughts, maybe not for the wake-up as it’s a costume for two!
Whatever form your spring takes – here at Party Britain, we hope it’s well and truly jumping.

You’re spoiled for choice when it comes to choosing a St George’s Day fancy dress outfit at Party Britain.
From a funky red afro wig to an adult-size flag costume, medieval knight and delectable deluxe Maid Marion dress, there’s no excuse for getting patriotic on April 23 (especially as we have an immediate same day dispatch policy here at Party Britain if you order before 5pm Monday to Friday).
But if you fancy celebrating your Englishness with a fancy dress costume that’s a tad different well, how about becoming a walking Big Ben? Yes, you did hear us correctly. One of Party Britain’s more unusual outfits, this always elicits comment. It’s a lightweight foam tabard with velco straps so you can still enjoy the party hands-free.
Other St George’s Day highlights include an inflatable hammer (of course!), and various coloured sprays and red and white face paints kits.
And kids can join in too. We have a selection of St George’s Day fancy dress outfits outfits for young knights, medieval lords and crusaders.
Meanwhile, did you know April 23 is also known as the Day of the Book? This is because both William Shakespeare and the Spanish author Miguel Cervantes both died on this day in the year 1616? Well, now you do…

Here at Britain’s top fancy dress emporium we’re eagerly awaiting the release of Fair Game.
The movie, based on the true story of American CIA agent Valerie Plame, is due to be screened in the UK next month. To get us in the mood we’ve been trying out a few agent costumes of our own from the Party Britain range.
Thing is with the CIA you have to wear your own clothes as in ‘undercover’ but if you join the FBI well, you get a cool blue number. The sexy FBI Agent costume for instance comes with thick belt (for storing your handcuffs and gun) and skip cat (for protecting your hair on windy/wet days?). And if it’s sunny, well you can adopt the frisky police costume outfit where you swap the bodysuit for mini skirt and short-sleeved top. Either one is an arresting ensemble, especially when you can purchase a dinky police badge purse to match. We girls do like our accessories
If the recently-exposed Soviet spy in America, Anna Chapman, is more your thing (isn’t she doing well with the modeling work these days) there’s a James Bond-style Russian spy costume. This cutesy blue/grey zip-up dress has epaulettes and gold buttons. Looks super-cool and sexy with fishnets and aviator glasses.
We admire the aforementioned Valerie Plame of the CIA. After all she was spying on the Iraqi’s at the height of the Weapons of Mass Destruction debacle. And doing it very well. It was only an article of her husband’s that led to her being double-crossed by her bosses and her cover blown. We just know that would never have happened to Felicity Shagwell…

News just in to the Party Britain costumes team is that Kate Middleton has chosen who’s to make her headgear for the Wedding of the Year.
Apparently the lucky leprechaun is Irish milliner Philip Treacy, OBE. The Galway designer will also style Kate’s mum’s bonce.
Undeterred, we took a rummage through the Party Britain fancy dress wardrobe and came up with a few suggestions of our own for the future Queen Catherine – in case she’s unimpressed with Mr Treacy as time goes on.
Our favourite hat would have to be the Carmen Miranda number – now, she’s not going to get lost in the crowd wearing that. But maybe we’re making the job of her body guards far too easy? In that case, we’ll maybe tone the headgear down a little with the Party Britain white cowboy hat (especially appropriate for Royal weddings seeing as it comes complete with tiara).
For a sexy and far trendier look, Kate could opt for the Cheata hat. This has its own veil which she can titter behind when she claps eyes on the rest of the congregation’s headgear. But we digress…a personal favourite of ours is the pink glitter cowboy hat – that way, when the nuptials after-party gets a bit much, Kate can pop into the nearest pub and join the Hen party taking place there.
The Mrs Jones hat is similar to the Cheata except its more zebra skin and comes with matching gloves, lending it a super-sophisticated look.
Meanwhile, a little birdie told us, Philip’s first hat was for his mum, and made of duck feathers. Bet Kate’s pleased he managed to save up enough cash for a college course!
