Yesterday saw almost 500 people take part in a fancy dress fun run across a Dorset beach. This novel fancy dress idea involved a runner in a Christmas Pudding fancy dress costume getting chased by a heard of runners in Santa fancy dress outfits.

The 5km run saw a range of Santa fancy dress costumes and fancy dress beards. The festive costumes included inflatable Santa fancy dress outfits, kid’s Santa fancy dress costumes and even a Santa with a pink fancy dress tutu on! The oldest fancy dress Santa runner was 73 years old – that’s good going! There was even a cheeky runner in a Christmas tree fancy dress costume – tinsel and all!

This fancy dress Santa run was all in aid of a good cause. £1,200 was raised for terminally ill children. This fancy dress affair has really grown in popularity over the past three years, with just over a hundred fancy dress runners taking part in the first year. Who knows how many competitors 2010’s fancy dress Santa run will attract!

King Alfred School saw it’s sixth form students really doing their bit for charity in Rag Week. The students walked the streets of Highbridge and Burnham in fancy dress costumes collecting money for a selection of charities chosen by themselves. The streets were in for a real fancy dress treat. There was no lack of effort in the students fancy dress ideas. This commendable fancy dress effort by the students raised money for the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance and Guide Dogs for the Blind charities – way to go!

Three hundred and twenty men, women and children took part in a fancy dress fun run in Welwyn Garden City to raise money for the Isabel Hospice.

The streets were a stunning rainbow of colour, filled with hundreds of Christmas fancy dress outfits dashing through. The fun run was sponsored by John Lewis and is looking to have raised over £14,000!

J2 nightclub in Bolton is hoping to be invaded by party goers in Smurf fancy dress costumes this Boxing Day.

In a bid to raise money for the Marie Curie Nurses Appeal the nightclub are donating part of each entry fee for every reveller dressed in Smurf fancy dress.
